Know the Format of IELTS
The basic information about the IELTS format introduced by the IELTS is that this test is taken in 4 parts simultaneously. Namely – Listening, Reading, Writing and Speaking. The test covers the entire four areas.
Remember that you only have a 2 hour 45 minutes time period, and therefore, you have to manage your time very well.
The first section is of 30 minutes, the candidate will have to listen to four recordings and then answer all questions about the material heard in the recording.
The second section is of 60 minutes, where the candidate is asked to read three long lessons and then answer 40 questions on the given passage.
The third section is also 60 minutes. The candidate’s English sense and writing skills are tested and are required to write one or more short passages, including a short formal essay.
The last and final section is about testing the speaking and conversation skills of the candidate. The total time of this section varies from 11 to 14 minutes and the candidate also have to give face to face interview which includes a two-minute speech on a particular topic after that a 1-minute talk with the examiner on that topic.
